UCSF Health announced Sian Mara, Physician Assistant, has been awarded with the Exceptional Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Award. "This award recognizes nurse practitioners. physician assistants, certified nurse midwives, and certified registered nurse anesthetists for exemplary demonstration of UCSF Health's values in their clinical practice and interaction with patients, faculty and staff." Sian Mara shared, "I feel incredibly honored to be receiving this award. I've been a PA for over 10 years and have been here with UCSF for almost 7 years. In that time, I've grown tremendously as a PA and that's all thanks to my colleagues and mentors. We have an incredible urology department; I am so proud to be part of a team that provides such exceptional care to our patients every day. "
She provides care for patients at the UCSF Mission Bay Urological Surgical Oncology Medical Center. Her clinical interests are oncologic robotic procedures of the prostate, bladder, and kidney. Advancements in the field of robotic surgery is a passion of hers and she looks forward to helping utilize and champion new innovations in the coming years. Sian's favorite part about her role here at UCSF is the team. She says, "The surgeons, residents, fellows, NPs, and nurses in the urology department are second to none."
